I’m not sure I need to say another word…the title of my post says it all, huh?
I’m not sure I need to say another word…the title of my post says it all, huh? After all the hours of writing, editing, querying, pitching, begging, pleading, offering my first born son (although he’s 17 now and eats like a horse so that probably wouldn’t be a very sweet deal), it has finally happened! I have been offered agency representation from an NYC agency. Yes! The words surreal, amazing and incredible can’t even cut it. I am over the moon!

So when I could finally sit still again without having to jump up and Snoopy Dance in the middle of my living room, I plopped down with the second set of revision notes provided by my agent and began brainstorming and jotting down what direction to take with the new advice. And I must say, using Caren’s revisions/suggestions has made me feel like a kid in a candy store. Delving even deeper into my story and characters has been more “fun” than challenging, and I can’t wait to see what new gems are unearthed in this second exploration.

Okay, time to stop yakking and get my butt back on revisions.

‘Til next time~ Lee Ann

Sorry I’ve been “slight” with my postings (okay, slight is an understatement, I know) but my writing muse has been insisting that I work until I’m bleary-eyed on my next big thing, so what’s a girl to do?

And what am I working on you ask? I’m penning a historical romance for Champagne Books titled Once Wayward. It is book five in Champagne’s Orphan Train series and is scheduled for release in September 2008. And, in true “Lee Ann fashion” (yes, I’m a masochist, what can I say), I’m also story boarding book three in my YA paranormal series, The Beholder. I’m a YA-aholic. Can’t wait to see what happens with this one! Good stuff.

Speaking of the masochist in me, now I pose a question to my peers (that’s you people). When you’re busily working on a project, do about a zillion totally fab book ideas seem to hit you all at once? Well, they do me–not that I’m complaining, mind you–but it’s just that I have to stop writing to hurry and jot down the new ideas, which always leads to more jotting and eventually I find myself chomping at the bit to start on my new gem. But of course, I have to finish what I’ve already started; that’s a big pet peeve of mine–never leave anything half-done. Must finish. So, all this rambling to again ask the question…do new book ideas flow when you’re slap dab in the middle of another project?

I’m ready to compare notes…

‘Til next time~

Okay, so now is the time that I do what every other author is doing and start my own blog. Yes! I feel like a real grown-up now; like I’ve graduated into some sophisticated, “techie” society where I can pour my heart out and hopefully get some feedback…

Well, okay, it’s really not that Earth-shattering. But, here’s what to expect from me on my blog.

Expectation #1 Expect for me to talk about writing A LOT! That’s what I do, I write. My favorite genre: Young Adult (although you’ll notice that I’ve written books for adults as well, YA is my passion.)

Expectation #2 Expect to see me eating Sour Skittles from time-to-time as I’m working on the next big thing. I am addicted to Sour Skittles, probably because chocolate would make my thighs look like cottage cheese (which is never a good thing) and the little brightly-colored bits in that lime green bag just seem to call to me, and like the characters’ voices in my head that scream to be released, I must obey the Skittles! (But please do keep in mind that Gummy Bears run a very close second with me).

Expectation #3 Expect to see a few cute photos of my puppy (I mean, after all, you have to see her while she’s still a baby, right?). She’s a toy poodle named Cloe’, and she’s cute as a button; into EVERYTHING, but cute.

And that’s about it. Feel free to pick my brain, and I’ll share what I’m kicking around in mine just the same.

’til next time~ Lee Ann
